Autism and Disability Welfare Association (ADWA) is a pioneer non-profit, non-government, non-political and voluntary organization. ADWA is the organization that promotes the protection of the rights of children and adults with autism and disabilities in accordance with national policies, plans and programs within the legislative framework. It facilitates the health care, educational, economic and social development of persons with disabilities in Bangladesh in a collaborative and participatory atmosphere, through training, public education and the provision of other relevant services.
Initially ADWA was formed to run and take care several autism schools and set up a health care for the autistic children and disabilities for their free treatment or get maximum facilities at our own location. Provision of training and employment for elderly disabled persons was also an aim. In the meantime, ADWA has taken charge of seven autism schools and has been bearing expenses. But with the change of time, some provisions have been included to serve the autisms and disabilities nationally. As the medical treatment of our country is very expensive, ADWA has also decided to provide free or easy access to modern medical care setting up a hospital for all autistic children and disabled patients in the country.
Bangladesh has many organizations that serve the autism and disabilities for their own area basis or their single organization. But there is no any forum that serves the autism and disabilities all over the country. Autism and Disability Welfare Association (ADWA) aims to bring together all the autism and disabilities under the one umbrella. ADWA is a caring and protecting organization of the rights of autism and disabilities people as a guardian all over the Bangladesh. ADWA believes that participation in such a welfare works will facilitate knowledge sharing, collaboration and mutually beneficial activities leading to develop the life style of the autism and disabilities and build ideal society in the country. To serve the autism and disabilities is not mercy; it is responsibilities for any person or any organization.
We will feel proud, if you come among us as a service provider and show the right path in favor of the autistic children and disabilities people. Being a valued voice of the Autism and Disability Welfare Association(ADWA) can be an extremely satisfying experience in your life. One where coming into service can be so enjoyable that the Friday morning blues are raised at sea.
